Moving Forward (Note About Growing Pains)

When Blue as an Orange was initially conceived it was meant to be very small, four or five artists/writers an issue, or about 20 artists/writers a year. Obviously that didn't happen. We are extremely grateful for the positive response to the magazine, and to each and every person who has sent in work (most of it has been amazing). 

In order to survive, sustain, and maybe even grow the magazine we have made the following changes:

• Blue as an Orange is now an annual magazine. Everything published over the course of the calendar year (Jan.1-Dec.31) will be collected into a single issue. Each issue will have its own web page on the site with links to all of the work included.
• We will still accept and publish submissions year-round. Submissions received after October 31st will be considered for both the current year and next year's issue (at the publisher's discretion). 
• Starting Jan. 1, 2023 there will be some changes to our guidelines, including stricter rules. Not reading/following the guidelines will no longer be accepted. We will share these updates prior to the new year. 
• We may be dissolving the dream journal if interest in it does not increase. Alternatively, we may keep it and include it in the magazine. We are still weighing the options.
